V200AMR

$38.95 + $4.95 p/h (within Aust.)

oceanswims.com's favourite goggle, we reckon it's the sickest on the sea, and the most comfortable. We've been using the Visio since 2000 - well before we knew anyone from View. We've found it has the best seal, the most comfort, with good field of vision, good sun filtering qualities and it lasts. Mirrored lenses. Comes in black/blue (Darth Vader - dark), or blue with golden lenses (Fully Sick - pictured left).

Visio V200A

$28.25 + $4.95 p/h (within Aust.)
Exactly the same as the Fully Sick and the Darth Vader, but without the mirrored lenses. We use them for training and dull days. A top all-round goggle.

Shinari V-130M

$38.95 + $4.95 p/h (within Aust.)
View's newest goggle, just as fully sick as the Visio (above), but it sits more snugly over the eyes, so it offers a lower profile. We wear them equally as much as our Visios and we love them equally.

Selene V820A

$29.50 + $4.95 p/h
Especially good for ladies, because the wider silicon seal leaves less of a mark around the eyes, so you're not so Rocky Racoon-ish after your swim. But ideal for all swimmers who want real comfort with good vision and seal. Mrs Sparkle's favourite. Comes in Black, Clear Blue, Blue, Light Violet.

Imprex V300A

$28.00 + $4.95 p/h

We'd never touch fixed nose-piece goggles before trying the Imprex. They'd never worked on us. But we love this one, which we've turned into our staple training goggle. Extremely comfy, good seal, good field of vision. Lighter versions could do with a bit more sun-filtering, but overall, a top lap goggle. Comes in Black, Blue, Clear Blue, Clear Green, Green, Light Silver, Clear Pink.

Platina V500A

$29.00 + $4.95 p/h

or $43 for Platina with two prescription lenses + $4.95 p/h

Good daily training goggle, but its great strength is its capacity to take corrective lenses, which just click in and click out. You can have different strengths in each eye - as we do, so we can operate our Brownie Starflash-in-a-plastic bag as well as see into the future. Lens strengths start at +1 and -1, rising by 0.5 to +6.0 or -8.0, then by 1 to -10.0. Platina comes in Black, Blue, Clear Green and something called XO, although the corrective lenses come in any colour you like, so long as it's black.

GEAR

Hydro Training Finz

$44.99 + $12.50 p/h
Aficionadoes had been into, for some time, these fins, originally produced by the Sydney northern beaches-based Hydro. We've found them good value for a number of purposes - in training, the shorter finds work your quads harder and actually make you kick, yet they still push you along; in body surfing and boogie boarding, they're easier to wear and manage yet still give you a good, strong push to get onto that ideal wave. Now, View has taken over the production and marketing of Hydro's products. The Hydro Finz sport a unique, "V" drive rail, which provides power. These fins also are very comfy. We love them.

T2 Silicon Training Finz

$89.99 + $12.50 p/h

Similar to the Hydro Training Finz above, these are made from a very soft silicon. A bit of a luxury item. Similar advantages to the Hydros.  Use them for body surfing and boogie boarding, too. This fin won an Australian Design Award in 2005.

Specify size when ordering on link above. Choose from S (4-5), M (6-7), ML (8-9), L (10-12), XL (12-14)

Hydro Tech Board

$19.50 + $5.50 p/h

If you're into pull booeys - as we are - then you'll love having a booey that doubles as a kick board, which this one does. It's a hollow, moulded plastic, which is light and shaped to fit neatly between the thighs. Could have been designed by Mother Nature her/himself. You can also grip it through the hand hole for varied kick work.

Moulded blue plastic or black moulded foam

Ear Plugs

$6 + $2.50 p/h

Believe it or not, oceanswims.com was at the brink of giving up swimming - not that it would have made much difference to any of you lot - some years back. Suffering almost chronic ear infections from pools, we'd almost had enough. But then we discovered flanged ear plugs, much like the View version at left. They opened a new world to us. Easy to insert, as it were, and easy to withdraw, they sealed well, were comfy, and saved us a lot of pain. How delighted were we to discover that View has plugs almost identical to those we stumbled upon probably ten years ago now. We wouldn't dive into a pool without them.
ACCESSORIES

Sports Towel

$19.95 + $4.95 p/h

We've used sports towels from other makers and, whilst they soak up the liquid that's clinging all over your body, they usually leave some film. And drying yourself with something not much bigger than a postcard always presents its issues. This towel is a bit bigger, though, and we've found it doesn't leave that film. It's a different material to earlier models from other makers. We like it, as the actress says on The Iron Chef.

Waterproof Bag

$24.95 + $4.95 p/h

This is one of the most ingenius devices we've ever encountered in our entire careers as ocean swimmers. And so simple! A plastic bag that seals watertight, folding up into a small bundle to hold your wet cossies, goggles, etc, after your swim, protecting all the rest of your gear from gratuitous moisture. Two sizes - blue and yellow. Blue one is the smaller. Capacity is not much different, but. We use both. We take the wet stuff to Mrs Sparkle's place for her to wash (at her place), and we take the dry stuff back to the pool next time to get it wet again.

Yellow or blue: former is a bit larger. Specify colour/size when ordering.

Deluxe Mesh Bag

$14.95 + $4.95 p/h

Every self-respecting swimmer needs a swim bag. After you've bought your goggles, your towel, your waterproof bags, your ear plugs, your finz, your pull booeys, etc, you'll need a bag to carry them around in, so everyone can see them and see what a cool, serious swimmer you are. The Deluxe bag comes with a shoulder strap and a "solid" bottom.

Mesh Bag

$11 + $4.95 p/h

A simpler version of the Deluxe bag above, this one doesn't have a shoulder strap or the "solid" bottom. Draw string closure.
Coming soon: Snorkelling gear from Tusa, the world's leading dive brand (part of the View stable).
