Dip
Dip
Welcome winter in the best way possible, with a refreshing sunrise dip in Bass Strait alongside hundreds of fellow ocean lovers.
The Burnie Winter Solstice Swim has quickly become one of Tasmania’s favourite community traditions. Last year, over 150 brave swimmers gathered on West Beach to greet the shortest day of the year, and this year promises to be even bigger. Whether you’re a seasoned cold-water swimmer or simply curious to experience your very first winter dip, everyone is welcome.
There’s something truly special about standing on the sand before sunrise as the first light appears over Bass Strait. Wrapped in beanies and towels, friends, families and locals come together to celebrate the arrival of winter with plenty of laughs, a little courage and a whole lot of community spirit.
This isn’t about swimming fast or swimming far. It’s about sharing an unforgettable experience, challenging yourself just enough, and creating memories that will have you smiling long after you’ve warmed up.
So gather your crew, pack a towel, embrace the chill and discover why so many people return year after year to celebrate the Winter Solstice in Burnie.
