Sydney Harbour
Unlike traditional aquathons, Swimrun Sydney combines swimming and running in a two stage event, involving teams of two completing the course with multiple legs of each discipline, swimming and running in the same gear and carrying everything you need for the race from start to finish.
The Sydney event is located along the harbour foreshore from Rose Bay to Watson's Bay in Sydney east and consists of a total distance of 17km made up of 3km in swimming and 14km in running - that's 12 swims and 13 runs.
The event is well run by local ex-Bondi lifeguard Adriel Young, and the gift packs are well stocked with sponsor product.
If you're looking for the ultimate challenge this summer, then look no further than the Swimrun - just be quick to enter as places are strictly limited and entries open 1 November.
Read our blog on how we took on the inaugural Swimrun Sydney, including tips on how to train, what to expect and the gear you'll need.
We could never do the course description justice here... so you should check out the official website.
You will start at Rose Bay and make your way to Watson's Bay taking on six swims and seven run legs, before returning along the same course.

Pre-race nerves may dictate that you don't focus on anything other than preparing yourself mentally before the event... but afterwards you'll find yourself back at Rose Bay, the eastern suburbs harbourside gem.
Start by chilling out under a tree in Lyne Park, then grab a coffee from event sponsor Sugar & Spoon Cafe. Following that, you're probably going to want to eat... so you can head north into the Rose Bay shops, east to Bondi and its plethora of cafe's, or south into Double Bay.
We could tell you about all the activities in the area, but you won't have the energy.
Parking isn't too bad in the area if you get there early enough. Free parking is available on New South Head Road and in the Lyne Park carpark (just watch the time limits on some parks).
The Rose Bay ferry sails in and docks at the park, so that's a fantastic option for those coming further afield. Check ferry timetable. Buses also run up and down New South Head Road from Bondi Junction and the city.
