Starting in front of the club house, the 900m 'Little Swim' heads east before rounding the rock shelf and returning into Bongin Bongin Bay.
The 2.2km Warriewood to Mona Vale course starts on Warriewood, running south to north.
The break at Warriewood at the start can prove difficult, with rips, gutters and shifting banks.
Once past the break, swimmers can take their foot off the pedal, but the run in to Mona Vale again poses challenges.
It can offer a run in, but has a longer break than at the start, and again has rips, banks and gutters.
While you're there
You're spoilt for choice in the cafe department in the 'vale.
You can't go past the cute little Armchair Collective, Italian inspired Cinque Cucina Caffe or for something traditionally Aussie and with superb views, the Bronze Cafe.
Travel and parking
Much like all the northern beaches, there are beach carparks scattered along the beach and free on-street parking. The locals are beach people, and if you're not there early you'll be turning your swim into a walk swim walk.
