I love to swim the ocean with others because I wouldn't do those distances and durations alone.  Since 2015 I have swum most of the events on the northern beaches, including the Cole 5km, the Pittwater Ocean Swim Series, and those run by the Surf Clubs.  When a short and a long swim are offered I do both because I love it and it's great value for money.  I finish in the top third or better - say 65-70%.  I train in the pool and my current distance per session is 4.2km.  I'm now living in Newcastle and looking for Swim Buddies!
