I started ocean swimming when I was 40 years old. I thought if my kids can do nippers and swim 400m in 8minutes. Then I could do the 1km shark island swim in 2018
I did that first 1km swim, no practice, no goggles. And I feel head over heels in love. The sound of all those swimmers freestyling at the same time, I can still vividly recall that sound.

I wear freediving flippers. It makes me feel like I can keep up.
I am slow and at the back of the pack.

there is something magical swimming stroke for stroke with a swimming buddy.

I am after more regular ocean swims during the week.
