I'll be back
Bilgola was a great swim: tough surf to get through, a big swell (which aided greatly from the Apex buoy to the beach), and beautiful sunshine on this scenic beach...
I recall a Palm Beach Start some 10+ years ago when I was exhausted after getting through the surf, at which point I thought, "now I've got to swim 2.5 k ! "
Bilgola was not quite that rough... I'll be back.
Tough but good
What a start to the season! Wedding Cake Island, Coogee to Bondi and Bilgola – all tough but great ocean swimming and well done to the clubs for going ahead and running the races in the conditions... but most of all a big thank you to all the safety crew in and out of the water making sure we make it back to shore safely.
Very. Strong. Praise.
Coogee to Bondi was the greatest swim ever. Oops, I forgot the modern punctuation. the. greatest. swim. ever. Neil Rogers, you've wrecked it all. From here on every swim will be a disappointment. At least until C2B next year. May it happen. It's in my Glistening Dave calendar already. Crikey that sounds creepy. (Sorry Dave. Had to go there).
A real test
The hardest ocean swim I have done. A very strong north south current: not a day for the weekend plodders. A real test for the best ocean swimmers in the world.
Great work in putting this race together Olympic Swimming Hero Neil Rogers.
