The Mooloolaba Mile isn’t just a swim, it’s a full-blown Sunshine Coast experience. With warm water, golden sand, and a beachside festival atmosphere, this is one of the most iconic stops on the World Series Swims calendar.
Whether you’re chasing a PB or just out for a fun morning in the ocean, there’s a distance for everyone. The 1.6km Mile is the hero swim, one of the most popular open water events in the country, and for good reason. It’s achievable, exciting, and gives you that sweet sense of satisfaction when you cross the line on Mooloolaba Beach.
New to ocean swimming? Dip your toes in with the 800m Half Mile. Want more of a challenge? Stretch out with the 3km, push further with the 4.5km, or go all in with the 6km long course. Each swim offers a new level of adventure, with calm conditions, clear water, and views that make every stroke worth it.
The setup on the beach is festival-style and family-friendly, think music, marquees, cheering spectators, and that feel-good buzz that only a big swim day can bring. Whether you’re swimming solo, bringing your crew, or cheering from the sand, the Mooloolaba Mile is all about community, coastal vibes, and ocean swimming at its best.
