An ocean swim hugging the Oriental Bay Beaches, with some of the best spectator vantage points around the Harbour, the Swim the Lighthouse Swim is the forth of ten events in the New Zealand Ocean Swim Series.

The picture postcard worthy Wellington harbour plays host to this event with the famous fountain, Pt Jerningham lighthouse and pine lined Oriental and Freyberg beaches front and centre of the action.

Consisting of four different swim events, the Swim the Lighthouse Swim provides an ocean swim event for all ages and abilities.

– The 3.3km Round the Lighthouse swim will leave from Frank Kitts Park, around the iconic Pt Jerningham Lighthouse to Freyberg Beach and into Oriental Bay.
– The 1km Round the Fountain will get to enjoy the beauty of both Oriental Bay and Freyberg beaches and is an achievable distance for most individuals with swimming experience.
– The 500m Round the Fountain will get enjoy the beauty of both Oriental Bay and Freyberg beaches and is the perfect swim if you are new to open water swimming.
– The Banana Boat OceanKids has two swim distances; 100m and 200m for kids aged between 7-12 years old.

The event base at Freyberg Beach will also be host to an array of family-friendly activities including sand-castles, beach games and ice blocks.
