The La Grande Swim is the sixth of ten ocean swims in the New Zealand Ocean Swim Series.

Taking place in the picturesque seaside village of Akaroa, swimmers will be greeted by tranquil water conditions in the bay.

Consisting of four different swim events, The La Grande Swim provides an ocean swim event for all ages and abilities.

• The 5km Wainui to Akaroa is the longest swim of the entire New Zealand Ocean Swims Series and will see swimmers cross to harbour.
• The 2km Akaroa Bay swim is the perfect distance for those not quite ready to take on the Wainui to Akaroa while building up for the big one next year.
• The 750m Beach to Rec Grounds is an achievable distance for most individuals with swimming experience.
• The Banana Boat OceanKids has two swim distances; 100m and 200m for kids aged between 7-12 years old.
