A splash, a dash, and a whole lot of fun!

The Little Penguin Dash is a junior beach biathlon designed especially for 7 – 14 year olds, combining a swim in the bay with a run along the foreshore. With age-based courses and plenty of cheering crowds, it’s the perfect way for kids to experience the buzz of a big event in a safe, supportive environment.

• Ages 7–10: 200–300m swim + 800m run
• Ages 11–14: 400m swim + 1.2km run

Swim depth is adjusted for each group, with safety always the top priority. After their swim, kids pop on their runners in their designated transition area, then dash up The Esplanade, waving to the crowd as they finish under the official event arch right in front of the pub. Every participant receives a medal to celebrate their achievement.

The Little Penguin Dash is all about participation, not podiums. There are no times or placings, just a chance to enjoy the water, the sand, and the thrill of crossing that finish line.
