Why this event?

Celebrate 100 years of community, coast, and connection at the Mount Eliza Swim Classic.

Join the Mornington Peninsula’s ocean swimming community for a splash of celebration! The Mount Eliza Swim Classic marks 100 years of the Ranelagh Club, and what better way to honour a century of coastal connection than with a swim across its sparkling bay?

This is a swim for everyone, from first-timers to seasoned ocean lovers. Choose between the 1.2km open water course for teams or individuals, or the 400m novice/nipper swim for those dipping their toes into ocean swimming for the first time. It’s all about participation, community, and fun in the sun.

Expect a friendly, festival-like vibe on Ranelagh Beach, with music, cheering families, and a sea of colourful swim caps. The focus here isn’t on racing, it’s about being part of something special, celebrating local history, and enjoying the water with friends.

And with team prizes, spot awards, and plenty of post-swim smiles, it’s the perfect way to spend a summer’s morning by the bay.
