The Pool To Pool swim starts at the rockpool on the northern end of the Strand and heads south to Tobruk Pool on the southern end of the Strand.

The Short course see swimmers walking to Strand Beach and swimming to Tobruk pool.

This event is the first race of the Townsville Open Water Swimming Association (TOWSA) Swim Series.
