Coalcliff Ocean Swim Club is focused on participation and provides community members with the opportunity to practise their ocean swimming skills with water safety provided by Coalcliff Surf Life Saving Club during the patrolling season (October to April).  It’s a great way to connect with others in the community in a friendly, supportive environment. The swim club is open to anyone over 16 years of age who can swim confidently.

For the 2024/25 season, the club is running monthly swims focused on helping members improve their ocean swimming skills around a regular course at Coalcliff Beach. The sessions will include practice getting in and out through the surf break, ocean swimming techniques and finding a pace and rhythm that suits you, to build your confidence as an ocean swimmer.

The course will be selected on the day, dependent on the weather and conditions. The plan is to have a triangular course around 3 buoys of approximately 500-700 metres that can be swum one or several times.

Swims commence at 11.00am
Members should arrive by 10.30am to sign-in and must attend the safety briefing at 10.45am

Anyone wishing to join the ocean swim club will need to become an associate member of Coalcliff SLSC and must have completed the forms prior to their first swim. The membership fee for the season is $50. All Coalcliff SLSC patrolling members can join at no cost.
