Forster is a coastal town on the Mid North Coast of NSW, about 308km north of Sydney. It is immediately adjacent to its twin, Tuncurry, which is the smaller of the two towns.
Forster is known for its stunning waters and Manning Valley beauty.
After your swim, grab a snag from the surf club BBQ and refreshments from the Beach Bums Cafe. Spend the day exploring more of the local beaches, taking in the view from the Cape Hawke lookout (also a great spot for supporters to watch the swim) and go for celebratory drinks at The Coastal Brewing Company.
There’s a beach car park behind the Forster SLSC and parking all along the beachfront.

Race Rules
The Dorsal Club 2 Club ocean swim is named for the main swim course that winds its way around the headland from Cape Hawke surf club to Forster surf club.
The 3.8km journey swim is as satisfying as it gets as an ocean swimmer, with all of the ocean’s natural elements coming into play.
There is also a 500m beginner swim and 250m swim for the kids (8+) in the rather more sheltered Forster Main Beach.
While you’re there, take a drive up to the Cake Hawke lookout and have a cool refreshing beer at The Coastal Brewing Company.
