The Altona Salties are a community group run by volunteer Facebook admins.

Swims and dips can be posted on our FB page by any member of the group. You’re welcome to post photos, share links and start discussions relating to swimming and the local area. You can share self-promotion or local business promotion once a month on the 1st of the month.

We’re a laid-back group of mixed gender swimmers based in Altona, brought together by love of saltwater, connection and a good post-swim coffee.

We meet once a week (or more) for group swims and regularly take part in swim events. We also participate in a full moon swim in line with the lunar calendar.

All swimming abilities are welcome! We meet outside of the Altona Lifesaving Club.

The admins’ role is to manage the Facebook group and welcome new members. They aren’t responsible for safety, risk assessments, swim coaching or lifeguarding. Everyone in the group swims at their own risk.
