ResetThe Coffs Coast Ocean Swims includes a fun and exciting set of open water swims for the whole family to take part in.
Running since 1996 the Coffs Coast Ocean Swims are held at Coffs Harbour’s Jetty Beach, on the beautiful Mid-North Coast. The swim courses are within the sheltered waters of the harbour, next to the iconic timber jetty, a reminder of the early days of coastal transport by sea and ‘timber getting’.
There are three swims on the day comprising a 600m swim followed by a junior 300m swim followed by a 2000m swim
After your swim, replenish your energy and check out some of the delicious cafes in the area or go and explore the beautiful sites Coffs has to offer.
The Coffs Coast Ocean Swims are held on the lands and waters of the Gumbaynggirr Aboriginal people – the Traditional Custodians of this area. Sawtell SLSC pays our respects to the Traditional Custodians and their Elders past and present.
The 600m Mike Blewitt Coffs Coast swim starts on the southern side of the jetty, goes around the jetty and finishes on the beach on the northern side of the jetty.
There will be two separate wave starts -male and female. The 600m swim is for ages 10+ and the distance is perfect for children taking the next step or adults diving in for the first time or still developing their swim fitness.
The 300m John Mills ‘North Coast Swim Academy’ swim, for younger entrants, will be held on the northern side of the jetty, and is an out, across and back course.
The 300m swim is ideal for young swimmers 8-10-years-old keen for their first taste of ocean swimming and to develop confidence in the open water.
The 2km Sawtell SLSC Coffs Coast swim starts and finishes on the northern side of the jetty and is a clockwise course that goes out beyond the jetty, takes a loop around several buoys on the southern side of the jetty, before returning back around the jetty itself, and into the beach on the northern side.
Saturday 6th April
Sunday 7th April
*Registrations close 30mins before each swim start.
The timing of the two main swims means that swimmers can challenge themselves by doing both swims.
Swimmers will be able to collect their swimming cap, electronic timing tag and competitor number at these times.
There will be no late entries allowed on the day of the swim.
The Coffs Harbour/Sawtell area is the perfect spot for a weekend getaway.
Once you finish your swim, replenish your energy at the Coffs Harbour Yacht Club or any of the cafes and restaurants in the Coffs Harbour area.
