Not for individuals. Not for mortals. For squads forged in the fires of brunch table bravado and group chat chaos.
The Team Challenge Swim is the penultimate event in the Tasmanian Ocean Swim Series, and it’s where tactics, teamwork and a healthy dose of splashy fun take centre stage. Held on the wide, golden sands of Carlton Beach, this is ocean swimming with a twist, fast-paced, tag-team based and packed with big energy.
You’ll dive in, swim your leg of the 1500m course, charge back to shore and tag your teammate before cheering like mad from the sand. It’s competitive in the best possible way, full of laughs, high-fives and sandy celebrations. Clubs love it. Mates love it. Anyone who reckons ocean swimming is better shared will feel right at home.
Teams are made up of four swimmers in mixed gender format. The winning squad is determined by the lowest accumulated team points, calculated from combined waves and times. It’s strategic, spirited and just cheeky enough to keep everyone guessing.
Being one of the final events in the series, valuable individual points are also on the line. So whether you’re chasing series standings or just chasing your mate up the beach, this swim delivers the full Tassie ocean swimming experience in one salty, social morning.
