About Noosa Heads

Noosa Heads Main Beach is located on the sunny Sunshine Coast a 2.5 hour drive from Brisbane and is the perfect place to hit the refresh button while invigorating your mind and body.

Known as a mecca to eat, shop, drink and play in the stunning ocean waters and national parks, you’re bound to find another avid ocean swimmer or surfer when visiting.

Noosa Beach is home to multiple sporting events including; the Noosa Triathlon, Noosa Marathon, Noosa Summer Swim and Swim Noosa.

At the eastern end of the beach is the Noosa Surf Life Saving Club. In 1915 the beach was installed with a surf lifesaving reel and in 1927 the surf club was founded.

Listed as a Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO, Noosa Beach is a great spot to see dolphins, sea turtles, and koalas in the surrounding lush national park, during and post-swim.

How To Get There

There is ample parking at Noosa Main Beach, with over 50 free parking spots in the car park at Noosa Surf Lifesaving Club. There is also parking along Hastings Street and in the Noosa National Park which is free for up to two hours.

If you are catching public transport, you can catch bus 627, 629, 626, 620, 631, 630 and 620 which will put you a short walk from the beach.

While You're There

There is plenty to do when visiting Noosa from a beachside yoga class, shop in stylish boutiques to dining at restaurants by some of Australia’s best chefs.

Hastings Street is the centre of Noosa, where you can find a buzzing hive of food and fashion with coffee carts, restaurants and boutiques lining both sides of the street. You can easily spend a couple of hours getting lost in all the shops and eating your way down the street.

Noosa Beach isn’t the only beach Noosa has to offer, so if you are after some relaxation time at a quiet beach post ocean swim you can walk along the coastal track through Noosa National Park to find more secluded beaches; Alexandria Bay, Sunshine Beach, Sunrise Beach, Castaways, Marcus, and Peregian Beach.

The Noosa Everglades is one of only two everglades systems in the world and you can enjoy a boat tour or tackle it on a canoe solo where you can enjoy the beautiful plant life including; banksias, tea trees, melaleucas and waterlilies. It’s a nature lover haven.

Take some time to escape and wander down the boardwalk which will take you from Noosa Main Beach around the headland to First Point, past the beautiful Little Cove and back to the start of the stunning Noosa National Park.

There are ample options to choose from when looking for somewhere to eat and drink, with Sails Coffee Cart, Providore On Hastings and Noosa Beach Cafe, all favourites among visitors for great coffee and brunch.
