About

The Noosa Summer Swim Festival, presented by DMC Fins, is now one of Australia’s most popular open water swims.

Every year, more than 2500 swimmers with 5000 supporters in tow descend on Noosa for a huge weekend of sun, surf and epic swims.

It’s a bucket list event for any keen ocean swimmer with a festival atmosphere that only Noosa Main Beach can deliver.

On Saturday, the open water clinics and adventure swims are an excellent opportunity to get expert coaching, tips & tricks. They include swims on Noosa Main Beach and through the stunning Noosa National Park.

Then on Sunday, ocean swims ranging from the 300m Junior Giants to the big one, the Noosa 5.0.

As always, there will be a huge range of abilities on the start line, from first-timers to seasoned swimmers and current Australian representatives.

300m Ocean Swim

Junior Giants

This event is a great opportunity for kids aged 8 – 16 years to compete with other swimmers their own age. Swimmers will start on the beach before swimming out turning around two buoys before returning to shore to finish. The event organisers encourage family and friends to share the experience and swim the course alongside the kids.

1km

Noosa 1.0

The calm, sheltered waters of Noosa are excellent for all abilities, so this short course is an ideal stepping stone for the longer distances, or to conquer your first open water event. Swimmers will start on the beach before swimming out and turning right around the first buoy, swimming to the second buoy, before turning right again and swimming back to shore to finish.

10 Years Old

2km Ocean Swim

Noosa 2.0

This event is the most popular event on the program. The course sees swimmers tart at Noosa Main Beach near Noosa National Park before swimming past a series of buoys before turning right around the final buoy to make their return to shore for the finish. For those taking on their first long course event, there is an option to start with friends and other weekend warriors in the Mates Wave.

12 Years Old

3km Ocean Swim

Noosa 3.0

If you’re looking for a step up in distance from traditional 1km and 2km distances, this course is for you. Swimmers will swim the same course as the 2.5km course instead adding an extra lap.

Noosa 5.0

This event is contested by some of Australia’s most talented pool and open water swimmers. The multi-lap course around the sheltered waters of Noosa Main Beach is the perfect opportunity to push your limits beyond the typical open water distances.
