Take on a new kind of ocean adventure with the Long Swim Weekend: Jervis Bay, three stunning point-to-point swims over one unforgettable 18km journey along Australia’s most pristine coastline.
If you’ve ever dreamed of stringing together a series of stunning point-to-point swims into one epic ocean journey, the Long Swim Weekend: Jervis Bay might just be your next big adventure.
Taking place on 5–8 March 2026, this brand-new three-day event invites swimmers to cover the most stunning 18km length of Jervis Bay, one of Australia’s most pristine and protected marine environments, in a guided, fully supported experience designed to be as inspiring as it is achievable.
Over three mornings, you’ll swim from Booderee National Park to Huskisson, connecting three long, scenic legs that highlight the very best of the South Coast. In between, there’s time to unwind, explore, and connect with a community of like-minded ocean lovers.
“The Long Swim Weekend is the first experience of its kind in Australia, three big swims over one incredible coastline,” said Andre Slade, founder and managing director of OceanFit.
“It’s designed for swimmers who love distance, but also love slowing down, soaking it all in, and sharing the experience with like-minded ocean lovers.”

Each morning brings a new challenge, a new beach, and a new stretch of spectacular coastline to explore. The course is broken into three guided swims: 5km, 7km, and 6km, which link together to form one continuous 18km journey through calm, clear waters.
“We’ve been lucky enough to secure rare access through Booderee National Park and around HMAS Creswell,” said Mr Slade.
“It makes this course truly special. You’re swimming through pristine, protected waters that very few people ever get to see from the ocean.”
Swim #1: Murrays Beach to Green Patch
Your weekend begins deep inside Booderee National Park, where the bush meets the sea. Swimmers will hug the rugged, forested headlands, pass over turquoise shallows, and glide past the white sands of Hole in the Wall before finishing at Green Patch Beach, a serene, sheltered bay that sets the tone for the days ahead.
Swim #2: Green Patch to Plantation Point
Day two is the longest swim on offer, a 7km stretch that arcs around the naval boundary of HMAS Creswell, before unrolling along the world-famous Hyams Beach, known for having some of the whitest sand on Earth. It’s a stunning, smooth glide past sweeping bays and glassy shallows, a chance to settle into your rhythm and feel the magic of long-distance swimming.
Swim #3: Plantation Point to Huskisson
The final leg is pure joy, a relaxed, social swim past the friendly beaches of Nelsons, Barfleur, Orion, and Collingwood, finishing in the heart of Huskisson at Shark Net Beach. It’s the perfect way to cap off three unforgettable mornings in the water, calm, confident, and full of that unmistakable post-swim glow.

Unlike a race, this event is all about the journey, not the stopwatch. You’ll swim at your own pace, close to shore, with the option to rest, float, or even cut a leg short. You can even split each distance by swimming some sections and walking others to make it to the end. Fast swimmers can double back for extra distance, while others can take their time and soak in the view.
Every swimmer wears a tow float for visibility, and there’s full water safety and paddler support throughout. The group naturally spreads out, giving everyone space to find their flow while staying connected as a community.
“It’s not about speed or splits,” said Mr Slade.
“These swims are close to shore, so you can rest, float, or cut a swim short if you like.
“It’s about endurance in spirit, the joy of moving through nature at your own pace.”
Afternoons are designed for recovery and enjoyment. Whether you join an optional swim technique clinic, explore the coastal tracks, or simply kick back with a coffee overlooking the bay, there’s no shortage of ways to unwind.
The first day wraps up with a dolphin cruise around the bay, while evenings bring the group together for relaxed dinners and guest speaker sessions featuring legends of open-water and marathon swimming.
“Each evening we’ll gather for relaxed dinners and hear from guest speakers who’ve done incredible things in and around the ocean,” says Mr Slade.
“It’s about swapping stories, sharing inspiration, and building that sense of community that makes open water swimming so unique.”
And of course, no swim weekend is complete without a local touch, there’s a visit to the Jervis Bay Brewery, a hearty post-swim breakfast in Huskisson, and plenty of time to connect with fellow swimmers.
“We wanted to create something that sits between a swimming holiday and a personal challenge,” said Mr Slade.
“You’ll swim far, learn lots, laugh plenty, and go home saltier and happier than you arrived.”

With calm, shallow water, minimal swell, and full support on hand, Jervis Bay offers ideal conditions for distance swimming. Even those who’ve never tackled a long swim before will find it accessible and rewarding.
“Jervis Bay has long been on the bucket list for ocean swimmers,” said Mr Slade.
“This experience gives them a whole new way to enjoy it, three days, three epic swims, and one unforgettable coastline.”
The OceanFit team has taken care to design a route that’s both adventurous and achievable, combining distance with confidence-building support, and freedom with expert guidance.
“This isn’t a competition,” said Mr Slade.
“It’s a celebration of distance swimming, a chance to reconnect with the ocean, your body, and a community that understands why we do what we do.”
Whether you’re chasing a perfect Strava line around the bay or simply gliding through the calm between strokes, the Long Swim Weekend captures what ocean swimming is all about: freedom, adventure, and connection.
“From the white sands of Hyams Beach to the clear waters of Jervis Bay, this is one of those weekends that reminds you why you fell in love with ocean swimming in the first place,” said Mr
Slade.
“It’s the kind of experience that stays with you, long after the salt’s washed away.”
