Take part in one of Australia's largest open water swims
The Danger Ocean Swim Series is one of the largest open-water swims in Australia offering a distance for all ocean swimming abilities.
Held inside Point Danger (a.k.a. Cosy Corner) on Torquay Front Beach the event offers four distances; 500m (Danger 500), 1km (Danger 1000), 2.5km (More Dangerous) and 5km (Even More Dangerous).
The event has been the major fundraising event for the Jan Juc Surf Lifesaving Club since 1999 growing from only a few participants to one of the largest events on the ocean swims calendar.
After enjoying a morning at one of Australia’s favourite open-water swims, don’t forget to explore the beautiful town of Torquay.
This event is the third event in the Great Victorian Swim Series.

500m Ocean Swim
Danger 500

This event is the perfect event for younger swimmers or those who are conquering their first ocean swims. The swim course is a triangular course starting and finishing at Torquay Front Beach.
1km Ocean Swim
Danger 1000
12 years
This swim is the original distance of this event. The course takes swimmers in a triangular course of the front of Torquay Front Beach, similar to the Danger 500 course only slightly longer.
2.5km Ocean Swim
More Dangerous

This event is a great step up for swimmers looking to challenge themselves after conquering the Danger 1000. Swimmers will follow a marked course from Torquay Front Beach up to Fisherman’s Beach before turning around and swimming back to finish at Torquay Front Beach.
5km Ocean Swim
Even More Dangerous
13 years
This 5km event is the perfect swim for those wanting to commit to conquering a distance ocean swim. Swimmers will start at Torquay Front Beach before swimming to Fisherman’s Beach and turning around to start their swim back to the finish at Torquay Front Beach.
100m Ocean Swim

6 - 7 years
This event is a fun wade event for kids aged 6-12 years old. Entries are on the day only.

There is a large car park located at Cosy Corner Beach, a short walk from Torquay Front Beach. Additionally, there is parking along the Esplanade and surrounding streets.
