Why this event?

A swim for open water swimmers of all levels in the protected waters of Half Moon Bay

Discover the sheltered waters of Half Moon Bay with a swim for every age and ability.

The Indented Head Wreck 2 Reef Open Water Swim Classic takes place in the calm, protected waters of Half Moon Bay on Victoria’s beautiful Bellarine Peninsula, hosted by the Indented Head Yacht Club.

With five distances ranging from 300m to 2.5km, there’s something for everyone, from young swimmers and first-time open water participants to experienced swimmers looking for their next challenge.

Choose from the beginner-friendly 600m Yellow Pole Swim, the 800m Novice Swim, the popular 1.2km course or the longer 2.5km point-to-point swim. There’s also a fun 300m Dash for Cash for younger swimmers aged 12 and under.

The sheltered bay provides an inviting setting to build confidence, enjoy a relaxed community atmosphere and experience open water swimming along one of the Bellarine Peninsula’s scenic stretches of coastline.

The event is also part of the Great Victorian Swim Series, giving swimmers another opportunity to earn points towards the series standings.

What's on offer

300m Ocean Swim

Dash

8 - 12 years

This event is open to swimmers aged 12 years and under. The swim course will see swimmers circle a triangular swim course passing three buoys before digging for cash on completion.

600m Ocean Swim

Salty Bitches Yellow Pole Swim

This event is perfect for those new to open water swimming or just getting back into it after a break. The course will see swimmers, swim out to yellow pole four before turning around and returning to shore to finish.

800m Ocean Swim

Novice Swim

years

This event is open to swimmers of all ages and is a great distance for those not wanting to conquer the 1.2km or 2.5km events. The swim course will see swimmers, complete a triangular course while passing two buoys.

1.2km Ocean Swim

years

This open water swim is for swimmers of all abilities from those new to open water wanting to step up to the most experienced swimmer.

The swim course will see swimmers circumnavigate past buoy one, two, three and five.

Free entry is given to all those registered for the 2.5km swim.

2.5km Ocean Swim

years

The 2.5km open water swim will see swimmers complete a point-to-point swim course.
