ResetThe Wind & Waves Festival is set to be an exciting weekend with a festival atmosphere and with plenty of activities for the whole family.
The Wind & Waves Festival is on this weekend at Kendalls Beach, Kiama, and participants can expect something unique on the NSW south coast.
The event is much more than just an ocean swim, providing participants with a festival atmosphere with plenty of activities for the whole family.
“We are really trying to celebrate the coastal town of Kiama by hosting this fun weekend in the sun featuring both beach and water sports,” said Mr Curtis Tredway, marketing manager of the Wind & Waves Festival.
“We have the ocean swim with three distances including a 500m, 2km and 4km on offer at the pristine Kendalls Beach, which is a breathtaking location for a swim.
“Then we have a beach netball and beach volleyball tournament as our beach sports events.
“If you are not looking to be involved in a sporting event you can still come down and get involved as we also have a sandcastle competition on Saturday and sunrise yoga both Saturday and Sunday morning at 6 am.
“After participating in your chosen event you can enjoy the live music and food by Hungry Monkey Kiama while soaking up the beautiful town of Kiama.”
Not only can you see an array of local ocean swimmers enjoying the swim but also some of Australia’s best volleyball players lighting up the sand of Kiama.
“We are expecting to see a fair few swimmers come down from Sydney for a weekend or day trip,” Mr Tredway.
“And why wouldn’t you want to come down and take the plunge in the pristine waters of Kiama.
“All the local swimmers are also looking forward to the festival and showcasing their pristine coastal stretch of beach.
“The Australian Youth Volleyball Championships will be taking place in a volleyball competition, so after your swim you can watch some of Australia’s most talented volleyballers compete for the title.”
