The Captain Christie Ocean Swim is back in 2022, this year the swim is on 9 January 2022 at Gerringong Boat Harbour.

This swim is drenched in tradition, dating back to 1882 when Captain William Christie challenged his sailor to swim from Gerringong Boat Harbour to Werri Beach for a bottle of whisky.

The sailor took up the challenge and won and what can we say… the rest is history.

The Captain Christie Ocean Swim offers a 1.8km ocean swim for $40.

Swimmers will start at the boat ramp, following the skirts of the rock shelf around the headland from Gerrigong’s Boat Harbour and into Werri Beach.
