The Warriewood Ocean Swim is back for the 2021 ocean swimming season and the organisers are ready to welcome their beloved regulars, families and first-time ocean swimmers to beautiful Warriewood Beach.
This year the ocean swim, on Saturday, 11 December, will offer two new ocean swim distances; a 1km and 2km.
Jen Spencer from Warriewood Surf Club said they were excited to be opening up again and getting people back into ocean swimming.
“We’re really happy to be opening up and getting people back in the water at our beautiful beach,” she said.
“We can’t wait to see everyone’s smiling faces as they’re swimming around the ocean.”
With the new ocean swim distances available Warriewood is hoping to encourage more ocean swimmers to participate with their friends and family, evening bringing the kids along for a swim.
“We’re really hoping to attract people who may not have done an ocean swim before and want to give it ago with our new 1km ocean swim,” said Ms Spencer.
“We’ve also included a new family bundle to try and entice families to come down, have a family day out and do the swim.
“With the bundle, you can enter a child and an adult in the 1km ocean swim event for only $50.”
The Warriewood Ocean Swim is a great way to see Sydney’s Northern Beaches and enjoy a family fun day once successfully completing your swim.
“Warriewood is a beautiful place and once finishing your swim you’ve got the Turimetta Headland at one end and Mona Vale Headland at the other which you can walk around.”
“So come down to Warriewood and check out our beautiful cafes and have a great day enjoying our beautiful beach and we hope you get out of your swim smiling.”
The Warriewood Ocean Swim will take place at Warriewood Beach on Saturday, December 11th with the 1km ocean swim starting at 8:30am followed by the 2km ocean swim at 10am.
